Of course I also just had to smoke the “Cigar of the year” according to Cigar Aficionado. It started off with a nice subtle spice and some interesting flavors, a touch sweet and a hint of cedar. That did not last long until it just became, well, a cigar. Nothing after the immediate first inch or so stood out to me. Then towards the end, it did not finish well, becoming a little hot, and really just tasting like, well, nothing remarkable. Don’t get me wrong, this is not by any means a bad cigar, its just not, well, remarkable in any way. I’ve heard the other sizes are better and I plan to try them, curious if the great stuff happening in the first inch or so can be better reproduced in another size.
