This cigar was reviewed on Cigar Coop this past week. No doubt this was my most anticipated cigar of the year. This cigar commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Don Pepin Garcia brand. The Garcia family does not disappoint as they pull all of the stops in terms of creating a top notch blend with exquisite packaging. Like the original My Father Limited Edition 2010, the DPG – 10th Anniversary has each cigar packaged in coffin box. Fourteen coffin boxes are in an elegant varnished box that is individually numbered.

This cigar is a home run. It doesn’t start out with a Pepin pepper blast, but the pepper does build slowly. There were also notes of cocoa, nut, grass, and earth that are detected during the smoke. In the end the pepper never overpowers and allows these flavors to shine. The retro-hale is really special and I think that gives this cigar a unique edge. The retro-hale starts out with an herbal spice quality and later on, some of the cocoa flavors even make their way through the nasal passages. The flavors are medium to full-bodied. The strength starts out medium before progressing to medium to full.

The construction is top notch. Outstanding burn and draw through and through. The cigar is a real finger burner on the nub.

Of all of the My Father Limited Edition releases, this one could be the best. This has all of the potential to be an Oasis cigar.
