Cigar Coop Review

The L’Atelier core line uses a special wrapper called Sancti Spíritus. It was a tobacco leaf grown by the Oliva family with a seed from the Garcia family. It is a hybrid of Criollo and Pelo de Oro and was designed as a replacement seed for Pelo de Oro. The wrapper itself has a strong resistance to mold.

Wrapper: Ecuadorian (Sancti Spíritus)
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan

MSRP: ~$8.00

(You can find them as low as $6.00, but thats a member price)

I decided to light one of these up in honor of having KC Johnson on the show. It opens up with a nice blast of spice and pepper. I would call the strength almost full, not overpowering, but it definitely has a kick and I reserve these for post-dinner time smoking. There are many sublet flavors that persist throughout, and the final third definitely lets you know its a near full-strength and body cigar, but with a ton of flavor. While not my most favorite in this profile, I would split a box and love to see how these would age with time. I believe there is huge aging potential.
