I’ve been covering the Kristoff Galerones series extensively on both Stogie Geeks and Cigar Coop. The Kristoff Galerones Sentido is one of four new blends making up the Kristoff Galerones series. The Galerones line is not just a set of new cigars, but it marks a radical change in direction for the products being released by Kristoff. The Galerones line feature more sleek packaging, and incorporates tobaccos Kristoff has not previously used. In addition, company President Glen Case is working with a new factory – Abe Flores’ PDR Cigars factory in the Dominican Republic.

The Ceniza de Plata is yet another cigar in which Case ventures into some new territory for his blends. This is the first blend that he uses the San Andres Mexican wrapper. People know my feeling on Mexican wrapper, but in this case both Case and Flores worked with it beautifully. The Ceniza de Plata delivers notes of coffee, chocolate, white pepper, earth, and nut. There is a real nice creaminess to this cigar. It is both medium to full in terms of strength and body. Except for some flaking of the ash, this cigar performed well with burn and draw.

Overall, I continue to be impressed with this line. This is definitely my favorite maduro by Case. The Ceniza de Plata is easily worth a box split and could make its way to box worthy.
