Filler: Nicaraguan. Costa Rica
Robusto: 5 x 50
This cigar was recently assessed in depth on Cigar Coop.
We’ve been covering Brun del Ré for several weeks on Stogie Geeks. This is a Costa Rican cigar company that is looking to expand its presence in the U.S. Market. The Brun del Ré Gold is their “late afternoon offering”.
This is the second Brun del Ré cigar I’ve talked about – the other being the Brun del Ré Premium. The Gold delivered a very different flavor profile (as it is a different blend). It has notes of cocoa, pepper, floral, and cherry. There is a nice herbal spice on the retro-hale.
The Premium was a really mild cigar in terms of strength and body. The Gold is a different blend and is going to have a little more in terms of strength and body (mild to medium strength to start – progressing to medium, medium-bodied to start – progressing to medium to full).
I enjoyed the flavors of the Premium more than the Gold, but the Gold still does a nice job. It’s worth a Try One.
