Back in September, I talked about this blend on Episode 66 of Stogie Geeks in the toro size. Based on some of my fellow Stogie Geeks also exploring this cigar in recent weeks, I decide to explore the tobusto.

I was quite pleased with the smaller size. The Royale Robusto provided me with notes of coffee, earth, cream, and red pepper. The red pepper could be detected on the tongue and on the retro-hale. The cigar is medium to full-bodied with medium strength. I found the burn and draw to be excellent.

Whether it was the robusto, or the fact that this cigar (could) have some more age, I found this version of the Rocky Patel Royale in the robusto format to be even smoother than the Toro. A definite box split.
