The 1502 Ruby is one of the three original lines launched by Enrique Sanchez Icaza’s Global Premium Cigars. This month the long awaited Corona line extension has been released for the Emerald, Ruby, and Black Gold lines. Today we look at the 1502 Ruby Corona. These three cigars are as different as can be, and probably the Ruby is the most of unique of the three.

The Ruby Corona delivered a combination of chocolate, cedar, pepper, and grass notes. I found the chocolate notes took hold early on. As the cigar experienced progressed, the cedar, pepper, and grass notes took hold. At times there was a slight musty component to the flavor profile. Toward the end there was more spice from the pepper and cedar. The flavors were medium to full-bodied flavors countered by medium to full strength.

I can’t say the 1502 Ruby Corona blew me away like the 1502 Emerald Corona, but if you are a fan of this cigar, you probably will enjoy this cigar. For me it’s more of a change of pace cigar, and it’s worth a fiver.
