For the company’s 10th anniversary, Tatuaje has released three special cigars based on the blend that started it all – Seleccion de Cazador (Brown Label). One of the sizes was a 5 3/8 x 48 perfecto known as Belle Encre. Another was a 5 3/8 x 52 covered foot parejo known as Bon Chasseur. The third size was a larger version of the Bon Chasseur that would be the 2013 Tatuaje release for the Tobacconist Association of America (TAA) known as Grand Chasseur.
The Bon Chasseur did not wow me at all, so I was a little skeptical of the larger Grand Chasseur, however the Grand Chasseur really. While it didn’t provide a lot of flavor transitions, it had some terrific flavor nuances of pepper, earth, coffee, and dark chocolate. I found the strength and body of this cigar to both be medium. Construction was top notch as it produced a stellar burn and draw.
Whatever was tweaked between Bon Chasseur and Grand Chasseur worked well. This is a box worthy cigar and stands at the top of the three 10th anniversary cigars.
