The La Flor Dominican Colorado Oscuro is a cigar that is a limited production cigar released once a year. It is sold in cabinet boxes of 50 and is released in four sizes.
I had not smoked this cigar since it was initially launched back in 2011. This cigar seemed to have more complexity than when I initially smoked it. It starts out with a strong blast of pepper. Once the pepper settles, the cigar takes on notes of grass and earth with notes of coffee and pepper in the background. The second third sees notes of coffee and chocolate take center stage before the pepper comes back in the final stages. While the flavors are medium to full-bodied, this cigar packs a nice nicotine punch as I assessed it as full strength. This cigar burned a lot better than when I smoked it in 2011. Overall, I was very pleased with this cigar. It was definitely worth a five pack in my book.
