We previewed this cigar over at Cigar Coop prior to the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show and as well as did a comprehensive review. The Room 101 Serie HN is the tenth blend to be launched under Matt Booth’s cigar brand. The cigar is intended to be a core line. The Serie HN means “Honduras”, but this gets its name from its Honduran Criollo ’98 wrapper. The cigar itself also features tobaccos from Brazil and the Dominican Republic.
The flavor is highlighted by a cool lemon crisp sweetness. This is balance nicely by notes of wood, earth, red pepper, and chocolate. The flavors have some nice depth to them – making the Room 10 Serie HN a full-bodied cigar. There is a little more strength to this cigar – it is on the upper end of medium to full. The construction is outstanding – with an excellent burn and draw.
Room 101 has come a long way since 2009. This was a nice surprise from Room 101 and a cigar that might slip under the radar. It is worthy of a box split.

I had one of these in my humidor from an event, and took it with me on vacation without much knowledge about the brand of blend – and was impressed. I was sitting on a beach, in Honduras – which was great but I really did enjoy this stick a lot. I ended up lightly toasting the face on their band before I realized (I save all my bands), and eventually my fingers too. I got a lot of sweetness out of it, and it smelled good even in the pre-light stage. I can't comment on burn because I was on a beach with wind in my face, but the construction was good.
