We featured this cigar as our smoke of the week on Episode 75.

Right now, this cigar continues to be an enigma to me. When I first smoked this cigar back in October, I felt it needed some age. When we smoked it on Episode 75, it was definitely better. However, inconsistency really has been the story of this cigar in my book. At times it has smoked good, and other times it is not up to the level I have come to expect from Tatuaje.

This last go around delivered notes of earth, pepper, and bittersweet chocolate. I’ve noticed from time to time there is a bit of a “musty” quality. I’ve smoked this other times and it has had more in the way smoothness and sweetness. This time it just didn’t, and it was something this cigar really needed. The strength and body are medium to full, wanting to go to full.

IMHO, Johnson has done wonders with broadleaf. While not a bad cigar, in comparison to others he has done, this one comes up short. It’s still worth a try one and see.
