I don’t believe Ernesto Perez-Carrillo has done a lot with Corojo in his blends, but the Short Run 2014 uses its fair share of it. For this year’s Short Run, Perez-Carrillo decided to release the blend in the 60, 62, and 64 ring gauges found on the core INCH line.
The name of this story is going to be corojo – as it delivers a lot of corojo flavors including corojo sweetness, wood, nut, cream and baker’ spice. I didn’t find this to be a cigar with a lot of flavor transitions. The cigar’s flavors are medium to full-bodied. As for strength, the Short Run 2014 starts out medium and progresses to medium to full.
This is not a bad cigar. Personally I have no issues with the larger ring gauges – although this one did require many touch-ups. That being said, this cigar has a lot of competition with the five pervious Short Runs. I rated it a fiver.
