The blend to this cigar is described as:
“Corojo Habano de Nicaragua, long fillers from San Andres – Mexico and fields from Estelí and Condega in Nicaragua.”
Lancero: 7 x 38
Price: n/a
This is a pre-release of a soon to be released line extension to the 1502 Emerald Line. The 1502 Emerald line consists of box-pressed vitolas and the lancero is a rare box-pressed vitola that measures 7 x 38.
Consistent with the 1502 Emerald line, the footer of this cigar has a “cigar lock” – which is a partially covered foot.
This has always been positioned as milder cigar in terms of strength and body. For whatever reason I always pick up a little more on this blend – and the lancero is no exception. This cigar starts out medium strength and medium-bodied and progresses to the medium to full range. The flavors are excellent as I detected notes of coffee, chocolate, natural tobacco, citrus, and a combination of cedar/pepper spice.
1502 Emerald fans as well as lancero fans will really appreciate this cigar. I will hold off on an official rating until the cigar is released, but this one is one is a winner.
