Wrapper: Criollo
Binder: Honduran
Filler: Nicaraguan, Honduran
Roxxo: 4 x 48
Price: $9.00
While the Master Collection One garnered a lot of high praise for Matt Booth and Room 101, I believe the Master Collection Two is the better brand. The Master Collection Two is an entirely new blend, but still positioned as a more premium line in the Room 101 portfolio.
I’ve smoked the Mutante (Lancero) and the Sucio (Churchill), and while I feel those vitolas are better – the Roxxo still performs nicely. The Master Collection Two delivers a lemon grass flavor that is a constant in this line. There are also notes of black pepper, wood, cedar, and earth. Flavors are medium to full-bodied countered by medium strength.
Overall an well constructed cigar, and a very nice release by Room 101. I’d probably put the Mutante as box worthy, but this one still is worth a box split.
