Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
WCD 127: 7 5/8 x 52
Price: $13.00
This was a limited edition, retail exclusive done by Tatuaje for W. Curtis Draper’s 127th Anniversary. This is not the first retail exclusive by Tatuaje as they made the Tatuaje 120th Anniversary (Cabaiguan Petite Corona) and the House Cigar for civil.
This double corona looks like a Tatuaje Monster size cigar and could have easily been an installment of the series – coming in at a massive 7 5/8 x 52. This cigar delivers a mix of natural tobacco sweetness, earth, chocolate, raw sugar cane, and black pepper. The first third of this cigar is the sweetest and it almost reminded me of a salted caramel. The second third the sweetness shifts back more to a natural tobacco sweetness. There are plenty of earth and pepper notes to make this cigar enjoyable.
This is not a power bomb in terms of strength. I have this as a medium strength cigar and the flavors are medium to full-bodied. I found the construction to excellent.
Whenever I see the Tatuaje Limited band on a cigar, I know to pick it up because I might never see it again. This is some great work by Pete Johnson and box worthy all the way.
