This smoke goes awesome with a cup of coffee. Its such a great looking stick, perfect lancero size and burns beautiful. I loved the flavors, sweet cocoa at the start, and some dark roasted coffee as i progressed. I really want to try some of the new versions of this, I think they could be box worthy!

In 2008 Pete Johnson released El Trinufador, and it was limited to one size at the time, a Lancero. Just recently he had gotten the rights for the name, which use to be an old Cuban line, and he wanted to go ahead with production. I am not sure when El Triunfador was in production in Cuba, probably earlier 20th Century, but it is Spanish for “the triumphant.” Initially the cigar was a Lancero measuring 7.5″ with a 38 ring gauge, finished with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, but in 2009 when the whole line was released it was changed to sport an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. He still makes the original Lancero, I am smoking it today, but it is a limited production. Like all of Pete Johnson’s cigars it is made in the Cuban style and the Lancero is finished with a triple cap and a pigtail finish. The cigar, like most of Pete’s cigars is made in the My Father Cigars Factor in Esteli, Nicaragua.
