At the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show, Altadis USA re-launched the Juan Lopez line. While this brand is known to many as a Cuban cigar, it was also a cigar that was in Altadis’ USA portfolio several years ago before being discontinued.
This cigar was a nice surprise by Altadis and actually offers a lot of nice qualities that one looks for in a Nicaraguan puro. It has notes of earth, pepper, cocoa, and wood along the way. This won’t be an overpowering Nicaraguan puro as it is medium strength and medium-bodied, but it can appeal to a wide range of cigar enthusiasts.
The construction was very good. For a cigar that is a little over $5.00, this had an excellent burn and excellent draw.
