An in-depth assessment of the AKA Solace was done on Cigar Coop.

AKA Cigars stands for “American Kick Ass” Cigars. Their presence seems more in the Southwestern United States. The company is run by Jay Lundy and Tom Poehler. Back in 2010, the company connected with Christian Eiroa who started working with them on their initial blend – the AKA Hybrid. Eventually a collaboration resulted with Davidoff as a result of Davidoff acquiring Camacho Cigars.

The Solace represents their Ecuadorian Connecticut offering.

This might have some unorthodox packaging, but this cigar delivers a great smoking experience. I detected notes of wood, cream, natural tobacco sweetness, and white pepper. The flavors are medium-bodied, so they do have some nice depth to them. This is not going to be a nicotine bomb as it is mild to medium in strength. Construction is stellar – as good as any high end Davidoff.

The Solace is going to deliver a milder strength, yet robust experience. It’s the kind of smoke that you can give to anyone. It’s worthy of picking up a box and splitting it with a friend.
