Despite the reputation of John Huber as a mainstay in the industry, Crowned Heads still found a way to take people by surprise and storm onto the scene in 2011.  Since then they have stuck to their guns wand created the Headley Grange, and JD Howard Reserve as well as 2 limited editions.

I got this box in the summer of 2012 at a fund raiser as a raffle prize. It was the Quad State Herf held at West Point in benefit of a military charity every summer, truly a great event if you live in the area.  The organizer puts all of the information up on cigarpass.com if you are interested.

As for the smoke it has a beautiful chocolate brown wrapper and with some age has gotten that signature stink that aged cigars get.  The dry draw was not all that eventful, just a natural tobacco sweetness.  The cigar has a subtle spice with some nice earthy flavors as well as an oaky flavor.  That natural tobacco sweetness really comes through on the retrohale.  Seeing how they have aged I would rate this cigar box worthy.  I look forward to what Crowned Heads has in the future.
