The Nomad Connecticut Fuerte is set to become the third core line – and fourth blend overall released by Fred Rewey’s Nomad Cigar Company. This line adds an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper offering to the Nomad portfolio. This is a pre-release offering that goes under the slogan “Not your Father’s Connecticut Cigar”.

I found the Connecticut Fuerte to deliver notes of cream, natural tobacco sweetness, grass, and nut. There was also what I term an “interesting pepper bite” in which I found a little more sharpness to the pepper than the other notes.

In terms of strength and body, I find that many Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade cigars are trying to push the needle toward more strength and body. I found this cigar to be mild to medium to start, progressing to medium in both strength and body. This seems on-par with many other Connecticut Shade releases coming out, but bolder than what has come out in the past.

Still there is excellent flavor with this cigar – and the construction is impeccable. It has all the potential to be one of the better Connecticut Shade releases of 2014.
