The Viaje Skull and Bones MOAB 2014 is part of the 11th batch of Skull and Bones to be released since its inception for years ago. This is actually the third iteration of the MOAB. Back in 2011, it was introduced as a short torpedo in the Skull and Bones Red Blend. There is also a counterpart called the FOAB which has a slightly bigger ring gauge (4 1/2 x 56). MOAB and FOAB are bomb names and stand for “Mother of all bombs” and “Father of all bombs” respectively.

The MOAB 2014 is a classic full strength, full-bodied smoke. The MOAB 2014 got off to a little bit of a rough start. It started with notes of earth, red pepper, and mild citrus. The spice and strength did assault the pallet. However as the smoke went on I found some coffee notes floated in and became more prominent. I found the profile of this smoke to smooth out and the end of it was rather nice. The burn and draw performed well.

I gave this cigar a “fiver”. If it had started out a little less rough in the beginning, I might have gone higher.
