This cigar was assessed in depth on Cigar Coop.

With seven companies making cigars for the Tobacconist Association of America in 2014, I was surprised how little fanfare this release got. This is the cigar line extension of the Padrón 1964 Anniversary exclusive to the TAA. The other was a Toro, but while the Toro is an on-going production for the TAA, this belicoso is meant to be a one time run. Like the rest of the line, the TAA Belicoso is available in natural or maduro.

I’ve been saying for weeks that the 2014 TAA Exclusive series has been an overall disappointment. However along comes Padrón and they hit it out of the park with this one. This cigar has a much more creamy and sweet profile than most of the 1964s. There was a point that it almost reminded me of a chocolate covered cherry. Of course there is that unique pepper that layers throughout the smoke. The flavors are medium to full-bodied and the strength is medium.

We have always said on Stogie Geeks that when it comes to the Padrón 1964 Anniversary smoke them now. This cigar is smoking at its peak right now and I can’t say it will smoke like that in a few months. Right now its Box Worthy.
