This cigar was assessed in depth on Cigar Coop.

The Tatuaje Chuck is a part of the 2014 Pudgy Monsters series. This cigar along with the Tatuaje Tiff are new blends released for the Pudgy Monsters sampler. It is also the first natural Ecuadorian Habano wrapper in the series (The Drac uses an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro).

The Chuck starts out with a black pepper blast and notes of wood. This gives way to some cherry and cream notes. These cherry and cream notes fuse together almost like a cherry cream soda flavor. The spice also has that sweet baker’s spice.Meanwhile the spice took on some sweet characteristics – becoming almost a baker’s spice. While there was a healthy dose of sweetness, the flavors still had a “tobacco feel” to it. The pepper could still be detected on the retro-hale. The sweetness subsides in the second half giving way to more of a nutty taste. There is a pepper spice still present throughout, but it never becomes overpowering.

The flavors are medium to full-bodied countered by medium strength. Overall a highly complex and flavorful cigar. I’m curious to see this blend in other sizes. Right now I have it as a box split.
