This cigar was assessed in depth on Cigar Coop.

This was cigar we featured a few weeks ago when Maya Selva and Gabriel Alvarez of Maya Selva Cigars were our special guests on the show.

Maya Selva Cigars is also not a new company and neither is the Flor de Selva line. It was launched in 1995 in France, so it is a company and line with two decades of history. In addition to the Flor de Selva (which also comes in a variety of Connecticut Shade wrapper blends), there is also the value-priced Villa Zamorano line and the Nicaraguan blend Cumpay.

The Tempo Maduro is full strength, full-bodied cigar. While it packs a punch, it still won’t assault the palette that much. I detected notes of cocoa, cedar, pepper, and nut.
At times the cocoa took on a little more sweetness and other times it was a smooth milk chocolate. The end of the cigar is spicy and not harsh.

Overall I found this cigar performed extremely well in the 60 ring gauge. This is a cigar I’d smoke again and I’d get a box of these in this size.
