Vegueros is a brand that is rolled in the Western Cuba in the Pinar del Rio region. While this region is known for its tobacco growing, there aren’t many cigars rolled in this region. The name Vegueros takes its name from the region meaning “Farmer”. It is rolled at the Francisco Donatien factory in Pinar del Rio – the site of a former prison. According to Cigar Aficionado, the factory also rolls the Trinidad Brand which was originally made in Habanos.

As for the brand it was introduced in 1996, but in 2014 the brand got a new look, brand, and sizing.

This little cigar delivered plenty of flavor and complexity.. It started out with black pepper and natural tobacco sweetness. Eventually some notes of cedar and grass also emerged. By the second half the natural tobacco almost had a syrupy quality which coated the palette nicely. There was also a cream note.

The last third saw a little bit of an au jus note emerge to put icing not he cake.

Overall this was a medium strength, medium to full-bodied smoke that delivered a great experience. With 16 cigars in a box where each cigar costs around 6 bucks, it’s easily a box worthy cigar
