Las Calaveras is an annual release by Crowned Heads that made its debut in 2014. The Las Calaveras – Edición Limitada 2014 marked the first release of this series. It is also the first cigar that Crowned Heads teamed up with the Garcia family at My Father Cigars to make. Production is limited to 3,000 boxes of 24 (72,000 cigar) The plan is for a different Las Calaveras to be released each year in a different blend.

I found this cigar to be a medium strength, medium-bodied cigar. This cigar produced notes of cocoa, earth, and floral spice. There is a slight black cherry note that surfaced in the second half. However, this is a case where (for whatever reason) these flavors did not mesh together. This is a case where I kept expecting this cigar to do something more and the flavors “pop” out. It just never happened.

Given this was a popular cigar, I’d still encourage folks to try one and see what they think.
