Alec Bradley recently re-released the Black Market Filthy Hooligan which is a candela offering based on the original Alec Bradley Black Market blend. For this year’s release, the cigar is the same blend, but there is an extra year of age on the candela wrapper. For this smoking experience, I decided to reach into my humidor and grab one of the original releases from last year and see how it smokes.
I like the way this candela has aged. While the wrapper still did not have the Kermit the Frog green, it still had some nice green to it.
The Filthy Hooligan delivers notes of cream, pepper, grass, and hay. There is a subtle citrus sweetness and a little bit of pepper kick in the second half. The flavors are medium to full-bodied against medium strength.
This candela got better with age – and it ranks as one of the better candela releases. It’s worthy of a box split.
