Released in 2011, the 1874 Series started with some nice mellow tobacco and some mild pepper. The second half brought some cedar and creaminess which was more enjoyable. The pepper also kicked up a bit. The draw was good and the deeply striated ash held for about an inch. Overall, I thought the cigar was a bit flat. Personally, I prefer the original 7-20-4 blend quite a bit and would reach for one of those before smoking the 1874 again. “The Angler”
