Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Vitola: Nub (3.5 x 54)
This year Andre Farkes of Viaje released two versions of the super shot. He re-released Criollo wrapped blend that we all loved from last year and also added a new Nicaraguan Corojo wrapped version. Both are available in the 10 Gauge (3.5 x 54) and 12 Gauge (3.5 x 52) formats. The cigar opened with a lot (and I mean a lot) of black pepper. This quickly settled down after the first half inch and was joined with some wood notes. As the cigar progressed, the pepper shifted to more of that familiar Corojo spice and sweetness. Performance was good but I do think they are still a bit wet (not unusual) and could use a couple of weeks of rest. I think these will age well and I am going to give it a “Box Split”. I do think I liked last years Criollo wrapper better and am looking forward to trying the re-release next week.
