In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.
This is one of my favorite beers of all-time. Trick to drinking it is it can’t be ice cold and you MUST pour it into a glass with a really wide-open mouth, such as the one pictured above. I’m not certain this would go all that well with a cigar, though it is very smooth and doesn’t overpower. Its close enough to want to try with cigars. On its own, well, its just one of those magical beers that you can sip and enjoy anytime and never get bored of drinking it. Its got a kick too, somewhere between %6-%7 Alcohol, so don’t pound 7 of these on a hot day unless you are into that sorta thing (and by thing I mean dancing on tables and puking).
