Wrapper: Dominican Cibao Valley
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Dominican Cuban Seed Criollo, Olor Viso, Ligero
Krone: 5 x 43
SRP:$7.25
For the 2013 of its Oktoberfest line, Quesada Cigars decided to add a 5 x 43 Corona known as the Krone (which means Corona). A production run of 500 boxes is being produced this year.
I’ve found the different vitolas in the core Oktoberfest line to have variations in their flavor profile. It is perhaps the Krone that was the most different. I picked up more of a mocha flavor profile with some pepper and citrus. The mocha flavors were definitely what I term “gritty”. I didn’t find this to be the most complex cigar, but the flavors were good. It has a good balance of strength and body (medium to full). The cigar had an excellent burn and draw. The only drawback is I felt the Krone got harsh at the end of the cigar.
This is definitely a cigar worthy of a fiver.
