Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Animal Cracker: 6 x 60
Price: 9.50
The Animal Cracker is the fifth cigar to be released in L’Atelier Imports Surrogates line. With each of the cigars, a single vitola is released per blend. With the case of the Animal Cracker, a 6 x 60 was added to the line.
The Animal Cracker delivers a flavor profile of earth coffee, black pepper, and some cherry sweetness. The flavors are what I term in the medium-bodied range.
The real story of this cigar is the strength. When I first smoked this the cigar was so strong it made my legs feel like rubber. I actually felt this cigar mellowed a bit in terms of strength. Back in August I would have rated it 10/10 on the strength scale. While it’s still full strength, this is more of an 8/10 now. It’s still a cigar where it’s strength over body, but the strength is more manageable.
The construction is top notch. Big ring gauge or not, the burn and draw were both excellent. This is a cigar worth picking up a five pack of.
