This cigar was reviewed in detail on Cigar Coop. The following is some background we wrote on it:

The San Lotano Oval Habano Limited Edition Pigskin Super Smoke Figurado XLVIII is a cigar that was quietly released by A.J. Fernandez Cigars. It was released to commemorate the Super Bowl XLVIII being held in the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area. As such it was a limited release and two retailers: Cigar Republic (Atlantic Cigars) in Elmsford, NY and Cigar Emporium in Lyndhurst, NJ each received an allocation. The cigar itself is a new blend in the San Lotano line and was made in a oval-pressed perfecto shaped like a football.

The blend used was originally being considered for El Mayimbe.

Overall I have not been a huge fan of the Oval line, but this is definitely one of the better blends, This cigar has a nice combination of coffee, earth, cherry, pepper, and citrus. At times the citrus exhibited a sweetness and at other times it had a bit of sourness. The notes are medium to full bodied for most of the smoke and then transitions to full-bodied by the end. The strength is medium to full.

I was impressed with both the burn and draw on this unorthodox perfecto. It was close to a Box Split, but I still assessed it as a fiver.
