Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano Claro
Binder: Nicaraguan Criollo
Filler: Nicaraguan
Bunker Buster: 5 1/2 x 56 (Box-Press Perfecto)
Price: $8.95
This cigar was reviewed in-depth on 6/6 on Cigar Coop. It was assessed as a pre-release. Since then, the cigar was launched and I had an opportunity to smoke again.
This is the eighth release in South Florida retailer Smoke Inn’s MicroBlend Series. It is made by Espinosa Cigars as an off-shoot of the 601 La Bomba blend. It is also Espinosa’s first retail exclusive.
Overall I found this to be a good cigar. It is slightly amp’d down from the other 601 La Bomba releases. The flavor profile is a mix of natural tobacco, earth, nut, and what I term “assorted spices” (asian, herbal, cedar). The strength is medium to full and the flavors are full-bodied. I found the construction to be solid.
While I think this cigar is ready to smoke now, I still think some additional aging will make this even better. It’s worth a Fiver for now (comes in boxes of ten) and has the potential to go higher.
