7 X 38 Lancero
Wrapper: Mexican San Andreas
Binder: Brazilian Mata Fina
Filler: Honduran and Dominican
$8.25
This year Matt Booth released a follow up to the original Daruma and kept the original blend and chose a Mexican San Andreas wrapper instead of the original Ecuadorian Habano. It had the same release of 100,000 cigars but the number per vitola changed.
I had really high expectations for this cigar since the last release was so good. But I have to say that this release is not as pleasing to my palate as the previous release. I found the Mexican wrapper to dominate the flavor profile. It had the sweetness and barnyard that you would expect from the Mexican wrapper, but that overwhelmed the delicate complexity that was present in the previous release. I would say try one and formulate your own opinion.
