Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan, Dominican
Bombones: 4 7/8 x 50
Price: $6.35
The E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2011 was the second installment of E.P. Carrillo’s “Short Run” – one and done series. This edition of the Short Run was the only one to feature an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.
It had been a while since I have smoked an E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2011 – and it could have been almost three years since I smoked the Bombones size of this blend. I found a very smooth and creamy cigar with notes of chocolate, wood, natural tobacco, and spice. Age was definitely very kind to this blend and it shows int he end product. The notes are robust and full-bodied – countered by medium to full strength. The burn and draw were excellent.
These might be a little hard to find, but my advice if you see them – grab a box and enjoy them. They probably are smoking at their peak.
