Zino Platinum -The Make of L.A.” is the second line released by the Zino brand paying homage to the culture of a city. For this release, the city is Los Angeles, California. Earlier this year, Zino had released the Zino Platinum Make of New York line. Like the New York series, the L.A. series is a single blend made in a single vitola. The cigar comes four packaging options – in this case reflecting the culture of Los Angeles. The blend and size are identical. The only difference are the boxes and secondary band.

Overall I like the Make of L.A. and felt it was a better blend than the Make of New York. The cigar delivers a mix of sweet cedar, pepper, grass, and walnut. There also is a citrus note that is subtle and adds the right amount of sweetness to this blend.

I found this cigar had some firepower. It was a full strength / full – bodied cigar. I did smoke a few of these and overall while it had a great burn and draw, one of the smokes did have a warm burn.

The cigar is a little pricey, but its definitely one of the standout Zino cigars I’ve had in some time.
