This cigar was assessed in depth on Cigar Coop.
The Pudgy Face is the third vitola in the Tatuaje Face blend. It is a shorter version of the Tatuaje – The Face – sharing the same ring gauge as this blend, but the length of the other vitola, the Baby Face. This is the “monster” that pays homage to the Leatherface character in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
In my opinion, the Face blend is the most underrated in all of the Monsters / Little Monsters / Pudgy Monsters release. This cigar produces notes of earth, coffee, grass, cream, and pepper. I found this cigar had more of a black pepper note while the others had a red pepper note. The strength and body are optimal – both coming in at medium to full. The burn and draw were both excellent.
Tatuaje doesn’t do a lot of Mexican wrapper releases, but when they do one – it’s spot on. Add to the fact that this blend ages very well and the Pudgy Monster Face is a winner. This is easily a box worthy cigar (assuming you could buy a 20 count box outside the sampler).
