The origins of the CroMagnon Blockhead involved making a box-press version of the CroMagnon Cranium. This vitola has been offered as a retail exclusive Tower Pipes & Cigars (Sacramento, CA) and Tobacco Grove (Maple Grove, MN). It has also been made for RoMa Craft Tobac events.

The Cranium was not one of my favorite vitolas in the CroMagnon line, but the box-press worked some magic around this blend. It created a cigar loaded with notes of chocolate, coffee, pepper, and earth. There is more sweetness up front and then becomes earthy and spicy in the second half. This full-bodied smoke is countered with medium to full strength.

A definite Belle of the Ball nominee and most certainly a box-worthy cigar.
