The Swag Black is one of four cigars launched by Boutique Blends Cigars at the 2014 IPCPR Trade Show. The Swag Black is the fifth blend to be released under the Swag brand. The Swag Black is a Dominican puro described by Boutique Blends as an “almost all ligero blend with eight to nine year old tobaccos”. It is meant to be a stronger and fuller bodied cigar. Last year, the company also released the Aging Room Small Batch M21 ffortissimo which was also designed to a stronger, full smoke.
This cigar might be one of the best released under the Swag line. It provides notes of nut, mixed fruit, natural tobacco – and of course because there is ligero there is some pepper. This cigar is going to pack a punch and its a full strength and full-bodied smoke. The ligero doesn’t effect the burn as it was excellent.
There was a tight pack on this cigar and it put a little resistance on the draw, but this actually turned into a positive.
Overall a real nice cigar from a real nice set of 2014 releases by Boutique Blends. This one is worthy of a box split.
