2006 marked the 30th anniversary of the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos line. This was a line created and blended by Carlos Fuente Sr. For this occasion, Carlos Fuente Jr. created the Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario cigar. For this cigar, he swapped out the Don Carlos’ Cameron wrapper with a Fuente Dominican Habano leaf. This was known as the Arturo Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario 2006 and was actually released in 2008. In 2012 the Arturo Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario 2007 was released and by this was followed up by the Arturo Don Carlos Edición de Aniversario 2008.
I enjoyed the Robusto better than the Double Robusto. There was a nice amount of sweetness early. The sweetness subsided and gave way to notes of cedar and grass. This cigar never got overwhelmingly spicy.
