The Plasencia Reserva Original blend is special, it captures “the very same taste that captivated the Europeans more than five centuries ago when they arrived in the New World.” (their website) 

This is a cigar that you should stop what you are doing and enjoy every moment. The pre-light draw tasted of cocoa, earth, and cedar. The cedar component to me will not be missed at all it was dominant for me but in a good way. 

The Plasencia Reserva Original starts off with solid Nicaraguan earth, cedar, cinnamon, and a little pepper. The high volume of smoke on the palate and puffs brought out some cocoa and espresso notes, there is a subtle sweetness if you can slow down the draw and focus past the earth components that I feel drive the stick.

The last third of the Reserva Original was creamy with continued sweetness and pepper coming back into focus. Reserva Original is a complex cigar that shows the sweeter side of Nicaraguan tobacco. One of the biggest strengths of retro haling this cigar is that it provides some added pepper to the experience whenever you’re in the mood for it. The Cortez size is great for a special gift or occasion and will allow you to step back in time and enjoy a medium profile blend with classic Nicaraguan taste.
