The news of the blend and sizes for the Aging Room Maduro was first broken by Cigar Coop prior to the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show. This marks a new core line to Rafael Nodal’s Aging Room Cigars line. It features a five year old Nicaraguan wrapper. In terms of the cigar, Nodal told us at IPCPR it “is at the top” in terms of its readiness. It is being launched in five frontmarks.
The cigar has a lot of firepower. I would describe it as “amp’d up maduro”. This cigar delivers a healthy dose of pepper, is also balanced nicely with notes of espresso and hazelnut sweetness. The flavors start out medium to full and become full-bodied in the second half. The strength of this cigar really creeps up on you – especially in the second half. The construction is flawless. The draw is simply outstanding – a little resistance makes this a perfect cigar to puff on. The burn is razor sharp and features a white colored tight ash from start to finish.
It’s too early to rate at this time, but this could be a contender for box purchase.
