Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan, Dominican
Brahman: 5 1/2 x 54
MSRP: $7.20
The E-Stunner is a soon to be released regular production offering by E.P. Carrillo. This cigar was previewed as a part of Cigar Coop’s 2013 IPCPR coverage. I also did a detailed pre-release assessment of this cigar. This line was a project spearheaded by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr’s children, Ernesto III and Lisette. The name “Brahman” ties into the cigar’s “Western” theme as it refers to a name of cattle. The cigar has a higher ratio of Nicaraguan tobaccos in the blend and features a higher priming Sumatra wrapper.
At the trade show, this cigar was young. Now about six+ weeks later, this cigar is coming into its own. I This cigar has notes of earth, nut, pepper, coffee, cream, hickory, and natural tobacco flavors. I even detected some melon sweetness early on. The pepper is more like an exotic spice. The aging of this cigar allowed a lot of flavors to really come to the surface making this a complex smoke. It is a medium to full strength, medium to full-bodied smoke. The cigar delivers an excellent burn and has a stellar draw.
Since this is a pre-release sample, I won’t assign a rating at this time, but this has all of the potential to be box-worthy in my book.
