Wrapper: Sumatra
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Dominican
Size: 6 1/4 x 60
MSRP: $13.00 (from Atlantic Cigar)
This is actually a second Factory Press Limitado by La Flor Dominicana as there was one released back in 2007 with a Broadleaf wrapper. This one features a Sumatra wrapper. We previewed this cigar on Cigar Coop prior its launch at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show.
This cigar starts out peppery, but then is joined by notes of natural tobacco, hickory smoke, and a slight lemon sweetness. I wouldn’t categorize the hickory notes being anything like a “fire cured tobacco”, but together with the lemon sweetness it is a differentiating factor. It’s not an overly complex cigar, but it does deliver some decent flavors. The flavors and strength are both in the medium to full range.
Overall it’s good a very good burn and draw. I think there are some better LFD cigars out there that are more memorable, but this one still isn’t bad. I would still encourage a fiver on this one.
