5 X 52 Robusto
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sun Grown Rosado
Binder And Filler: Dominican
The other day I was craving something creamy and delicious as it was early and I was just had an itch for something that fit that flavor profile. In the past when needing this void filled, which is admittedly scarce, I always went to the EPC Inaugural, but those are becoming more and more scarce so I figured I have to branch out. After consulting with Stogie St. Nick himself this is what we came up with.
Being that I am a Fuente fan I am surprised that I have not tried this before, because it is not a brand new stick. In fact I think it is at least two years old. But, it as worth the wait. This wrapper is from lower primings of the Ecuadorian Sumatra plant and then is aged for almost a decade (as per arturofuente.com). It really delivered on what I was looking for. Tons of cream, toasted nuts and a touch of sweetness. It even had a little leather that developed briefly in the middle of the stick. I am very impressed and I have found a new morning smoke, this is worth a box split.
