Some notes on this cigar:
As with the Diamond Crown Maduro, the Diamond Crown Black Diamond will be made at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican
The Diamond Crown Black Diamond will be available in five regular production sizes, plus one special size for the Toast Across America sampler pack. This is the first year this blend (even under its old name) has been offered in the Toast Across America pack that raises money for the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.
The five regular production offerings will be packaged in boxes of 15.
Robusto No. 3: 6 1⁄2 x 54
Robusto No. 4: 5 1⁄2 x 54
Robusto No. 5: 4 1⁄2 x 54
Figurado No. 6: 6 x 46/64
Pyramid No. 7: 6 3⁄4 x 54
Toast Across America Torpedo: 6 1/2 x 52 (Sampler Pack exclusive)
I smoked the Torpedo, which came in the Toast Across America sample pack, which also includes Arturo Fuente Don Arturo Aniversario Destinal al Siglo Torpedo of the same size (6 1/2 x 52). While I did get some notes of cedar and sweetness in the background, there was a burnt toast flavor that I just couldn’t get over. This does have just about a year of age, and was mild even with the very dark wrapper. This cigar is not for everyone, the flavor is very unique and not in my wheelhouse. Its tough to even rate this a try one, as for $25 you are either going to love it or hate it. If you like your toast burnt, give this a shot.
