One reason why Boutique Blends and the Aging Room brand become successful is because of the partnership established with Jochi Blanco – who owns the Tabacalera La Palma factory and farms in the Dominican Republic. The name Bin No. 1 refers to an area of Tabacalera La Palma that contained aged tobaccos dating back to 1999 and 2001. Recently this tobacco was made available to build a blend for Boutique Blends, thus the Aging Room Bin No. 1 was born.
I did like how when you pulled the big band off, there was a smaller band under it.
This is the first Aging Room cigar with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, but this is like no other Ecuadorian Habano / Dominican blend I ever had. This cigar delivers notes of natural tobacco, sugar cane. vanilla, and assorted spices. There is more sweetness early on and the vanilla becomes prominent later on. The spice also switches from red pepper early on to black pepper later on.Toward the end there is plety of spice.
I was amazed at the firepower on this cigar with the aged tobacco it contained. It starts out medium to full strength and goes to full strength at the end. The body is medium to full throughout.
The draw was fine. It produced plenty of smoke. I did find this cigar needed more touch-ups than I prefer. There also was a loose ash. Still the flavors of this cigar were incredible. At this point I have it as a box split, but if some of the burn issues go away, this will go box worthy.
