Magnum: 6 x 60
Price: ~$6.90
While the three cigars of the Caldwell Collection (Eastern Standard, Long Live the King, and The King is Dead) have gotten considerable attention, Caldwell Cigar Company has also released a second series called Seleccion Junior Varsity. This keeps to the company’s mantra of introducing hard to find tobaccos, but brings them in at a budget friendly price. The Sevillana is the Ecuadorian Connecticut offering in that line.
I found Sevillana to really be an excellent cigar. This cigar had more of a creamy profile with some orange sweetness early on. The cream especially took hold early in the second third. The later stages had more of a cedary profile. The profile of this cigar is mild to medium in strength and medium-bodied. The construction was excellent. This burned terrific for a 60 ring gauge.
This was one of the better Ecuadorian Connecticut big ring gauge cigars I had. Don’t let the fact that this cigar is less expensive make it less enjoyable. For myself, this was easily worth a box split.
