This cigar was assessed in depth on Cigar Coop.
The Regius of London Claro Especial Exclusivo U.S.A. is the second line by Regius Cigars that will be available exclusively in the American market. Last week it was announced that the Regius Exclusivo U.S.A. red label line would have a national release. Later that week, we were told by owner Akhil Kapacee the details around this second Exclusivo U.S.A. Kapacee told us that the goal of this cigar was to put less emphasis on the wrapper and more emphasis on the binder and filler. To accomplish this, he used a double binder.
Last week I discussed the Pressed Perfecto. While the Fat Perfecto is the same blend, this cigar brings its own story. This cigar delivers notes of cream, berry, wood, and a pepper spice that increases. I also found both perfectos to exhibit a sweetness and smoothness throughout the cigar. I also found both cigars to deliver plenty of favor. Like the Pressed Pressed Perfecto, the double binder worked very well here. The big difference is I though the Fat Perfecto was slightly dialed back in terms of strength and body. The strength remains at medium while the body stays at medium for most of the cigar before progressing to medium to full.
A slight edge to the Pressed Perfecto in my book, but still a box worthy cigar.
